Your first visit with Dr. Ali Alijanian consists of a consultation. Sometimes, the treatment you are seeking can be done on the same day. But if you have a more complex treatment plan or medical history, our oral surgeon will schedule your actual procedure for another day. Any patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the consultation. We ask you to bring certain information when you come, namely:
- Our online patient registration form
- Your surgical referral slip and X-Rays if applicable
- A list of any medications you are currently taking
- Your medical or dental insurance information, including a copy of your insurance card
You can ask your dentist or physician to forward your recent X-rays to us via email or US mail, though if there is not enough time, we ask you to bring them yourself. Please let us know of any medical conditions that may be of concern during your surgery, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, etc., or if you are taking any medications. We invite you to contact our dental office in Walnut Creek, California, at 925-934-7888 for any specific questions you may have.
For patients undergoing IV anesthesia for surgery, a preoperative consultation and physical examination is mandatory. You will be given preoperative instructions on how to proceed and cannot eat or drink anything for eight hours prior to your surgery. You will need a trusted adult to drive you home after the procedure and to take care of you for the four to six hour recovery period. Dr. Ali Alijanian can make sure that everything is taken care of so that your surgery will go smoothly.
